Gates to the Fractal Universe

Here's my new artwork. I got the inspiration while reading Larry Niven's "Ringworld" and listening to some space ambiental music.

I've renderered the left figure with Mandelbulber... it's a kind of (3D) fractal called Quaternion. You may want to learn more about it here. (Hope you LOVE maths if you clicked)
Everything else is just a little time playing with GIMP's brushes, filters and lots of layers.
